We are taking our XP machine out of service. It is the only computer we have that has a 3 1/2 inch floppy drive and a zip drive. I decided to make a project of rounding up all the appropriate floppies I could find and go through them all and salvage anything worthwhile. When all was done, I went through 126 3 1/2 inch floppies and 37 zip disks. A quick calculation shows that represents about 3.8 GBytes. In all those disks I found little of very much value. For me the most interesting thing was some programming in Pascal I did looking at fractals. I put all the stuff that was worthwhile (or marginally so) on a thumb drive. It was a total of 650 MBytes.

Goodbye, XP. You hung in there for a long time.
I had a Zip drive ages ago.
