Today was a long day, but we had a lot of fun. In the morning we visited Belle Meade Plantation. This was one of the top race horse breeding farms for a long time in the second half of the 19th century and into the 20th century. They also have a winery where we had a tasting and bought a couple bottles of berry wine which we intend to use for cordials in a couple weeks when we have lots of visitors. The afternoon was spent at the Country Music Hall of Fame. This is a must see in Nashville. We spent a couple hours there and found it really interesting. Our evening entertainment was a riverboat ride which included dinner and a show. The show was great, the dinner was lousy. Anyway, here's a shot at sunset of the General Jackson steaming up the Cumberland River with the Captain on the flying bridge. |
