Today we hung the prop on the Swift. A long way to go to get airborne, but still progress is being made. This is a Hartzell propeller which cost me $4 thousand to comply with an airworthiness directive. If you haven't ever attached a Hartzell propeller, let me tell you it is a pain in the a$$. Richard knows all about it. Not only is it hard to turn the bolts because they are obstructed, it is particular hell trying to put on the safety wire. Very cramped and obstructed quarters. As a matter of fact, it took me over an hour to put on two of the three, and by that time I was fried and called it quits and grabbed a beer. Anyway, still waiting on delivery of some anchor nuts so I can fix the landing gear. Lots of things I can do while waiting.
