R 33

Scanned from a 1948 print from the 1926 original
The airship R 33, Completed in 1919 it initially saw service with the RAF before being transferred to the Air Ministry in 1920 and assigned a civil serial number (G-FAAG)
The Air Ministry used the R 33 for testing and evaluation of equipment and airship uses, due to budget cuts she was mothballed in 1922.
Reactivated in 1925 she continued in her testing and evaluation roll with an RAF crew, the picture shows her with a pair of Gloster Grebe slung underneath, these were successfully launched and recovered.
She was scrapped in 1928 after metal fatigue was found in the frame
