Hi John, thanks for your comment onhttp://www.pbase.com/celidh/image/127591221

This was taken in a beautiful spot in the Connemara, West Coast of Ireland. Considering how beautiful a fire can look, this is one of the few times I've actually been able to capture it.

There are some more recent travel pictures here

After you left a mesage on one of my images I wandered over to yours and found so much to learn and appreciate. You spend a lot of effort to plan and present your images, and they are all first class, images and post processing. I added you to my favorites, and will be back. It is a long time since I was in New Zealand, looks like it is time to go back!

Your work has much depth, love it!

Added you to my favourites and I will be back, because you have loads of interesting images! Keep it up!

John, are you the John Lamb who do the cool baby footage that I see on Gettyimages.com? It's a great clip. I live in Chicago and am entering the Mishmash contest sponsored by Getty. Thru the contest I can access 70 free clips, but am not able to access yours. Is there a way I could do so? I am unemployed right now and doing a story thru video about a baby who is allowed to preview the world before choosing to be born. Based on my novel. Thanks. Contest deadline is Oct 31, 2010.

Hello John,
Thanks for dropping by my galleries. I took the opportunity to check out your work. As a Cantab, I'm familiar with many of the locations - your Otago landscapes and Oamaru architectural shots are a joy. It's gratifying to gain a different appreciation of these views through the skillful work of another photographer.
Regards
Ryan

Hi John; I'm already in your beautiful country but don't think I could take photos as nice as this. I'd love to use your photo 'Engineer' on some work I'm doing. If you'd consider allowing this please contact me at lee-hay at ihug.co.nz and I'll give you all the details. Thanks heaps, Alicia, Auckland

Hi John, I really enjoyed your galleries - particularly the landscape shots of Otago. I spent quite a bit of time rambling around the Peninsula as a student at Otago Uni, and it's a wonderful part of the country. Kind regards.

Hello John. Thanks for your recent insightful (did I just invent that word?) comments. That view of Lyttelton Harbour is indeed from our house and is just one of many. Taken on the balcony by the dog bowls. He is only interested in the view right in front of his nose when there is something in a bowl. Your winter gallery has got me thinking as I have got a long weekend off this weekend but I rarely see that sort of stuff when I am in that area. Where we go will depend on the weather map...one of the many advantages of New Zealand.

I think you're on a whole different level than a lot other people.

Hi John,I used to work in a pub in Sun Street,Waltham Abbey, back in the 80's.It's funny you referring to Romford brewed beer as all-slops,'cos that was what the publican did with all the slops('cept Guinness),all slops were strained into barrels of John Smiths bitter,ex-Romford.

Hi John,Thanks for your comments. There must be something about NZ,my cousin Sheila, born in UK,lives there now.My Godmother lives there,my childrens godfather recently holidayed there for the second time, now wants to move there, and in Wellington,my son John's namesake, runs a tour company. You wouldn't like Romford now. It's difficult to find an english speaker anywhere.

Hello John I think you must have checked out my portfolio at the same time as I saw yours. NZ is great for photography; I visited for a few days last year, covered the Banks peninsula (while testing out a D200), which I will upload soon. Your galleries do justice to the great landscapes in NZ. Excellent galleries esp the D70 & D200 folders. Cheers, KKY

John
I shoot in RAW and JPG ,but lately I have been shooting in RAW because I purchased the Nikon Software Capture4 and now am waiting for Nikon Capture NX .
I am learning the Nikon software to process RAW images and so far I find the Nikon software very satisfactory.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my gallery, and enjoy Pbase.com it is a great learning tool .
Regards
