I can explain this one.It died and all the creepy crawlies did what only they do best.Sorry to spoil the fun on this one,but such reality helps to focus ones attention even more on the curious .

Bob said the creature would have been 3 to 4 foot long. All the bones appeared to be under the pelt, but there was no sign of the skull.

John, I understand your concern---I hate to see animals suffer too. Even after years of field investigating that exposed me to all manner of horrors, I cannot long endure a sight such as what you present here. Trawling through the detailed evidence for information is not my idea of freedom, if you get my drift. But I resign myself to the knowledge that my work advances the cause of The Battle. I know you will will remain vigilant, so I will not waste my energy and insult your intelligence by exhorting you to do so. By the way, this is an excellent documentary image.
