It's a great wonderful capture, but my heart hurts looking at people any-where on this planet, be there or here in US how they disgrace and desform their body, I can't understand why! V

i agree with this :

This is absolutely delightful! You are an amazing photographer with a great eye. As for some of the comments that were rude that you received upon showing this wonderful art - I have seen Americans in Houston and other places in US that have the ears and lips done this way. It is NOT really that painful - as the Japanese did to the feet. At least my friend who has both ears done about 2 feet long said it didn't hurt. so, the point - the images are wonderful to show this culture!

Behind the awesome quality of this photography an incredible feeling about this people living right now on the same planet as us connected and seeing them on our screens ... more than strange how different humans can be and live on this small planet ! Weird, thanks for sharing, ERic

Are those on top of the girl's head kinda metal tubes? It must be extremely heavy!
Some people may do not like to see the girls' lip enlargement, but they have to agree this is a great shot.

Awesome image!
I suppose it's hard for people outside these people's culture to be able to understand the cultural relevance of their body modifications. They look very weird to us, but to them, silicon breast implants or high heel shoes might be considered horrific and lip enlargements quite normal. I remember reading somewhere that lip enlargements started to deter slavers from kidnapping women but am not sure how accurate this is.

Great photo indeed!

Even if it's a sort of culture, but again, I regard this as a torture to the women there.

This torture is similar to that one in old China when Chinese women were forced to bind their feet day and night till the feet were half the length of your hand!! When women had real tiny feet, they couldn't walk steadily. And men thought that was elegant. That was sick and became history.

I do hope these black ladies will be "liberated" from this bad "culture".

Just my 2 cents.

Sure would hate for the one on the right to bum a chew of Skoal off me!

It's wild, but even here in Southern California, people have been stretching their earlobes to the point of being able to slip a half dollar coin through the holes...

Crazy what some cultures will teach people to do to their bodies
