Photos from a field expedition to the Lacondón Forest in Chiapas to see Triuris brevistylis (Triuridaceae), a mycotrophic plant that obtains all its nutrition through its roots from fungi which are also associated with the roots of nearby photosynthetic plants. Female and male flowers are typically on separate plants, with male plants being disproportionately rare.
