Barn Roof (5553)

Page County, Iowa

A little closer view of the sheets that cover the hay mow barn door.
Now keep in mind...the ladder is on the full length of the roof, and the outer edge of the farthest sheet would be seven & a half feet (7'6") from the ladder...
that's one long ways to reach out to nail, so I had to climb off the ladder and straddle the ridge while I nailed...I was literally sitting on the ridge out past the roof line...
This ranked right up there with shingling in the snow and working on the Ax Murder House.
(I made Dad go inside and I worked on the outside)

other sizes: small medium original auto

This is a beautiful picture. I love the contrasting colors. My husband and I have been needing to replace the roof of our barn. I've been told that roofs are incredibly important to maintain. I think we'll look into that this week. http://www.arooftech.com

My husband repaired our barn roof a couple of months ago, but it didn't look anything like this one. Did they roof this one with steel? We have always used shingles for all of our roofs in the past.http://www.allroseexteriors.com/ourservices.html

Nope. A hundred years old then....not much framing to hold up a bit of metal....and half rotten at that!
