70 years ago today, April 1st, 1945 (Easter Sunday), Dad and thousands of other Marines and Soldiers landed on Okinawa. The fight for the island lasted 82 days, at the cost the lives of over 14,000 U.S. Marines, Sailors and Soldiers.
