All of these photos are of wild elk in North America. Every fall male(bull) elk gather groups of cow elk into harems
and stay with them until they come into heat and successfully mate with them. During this time called the rut, bulls will chase off rival bulls,
try and gain more cows, and even fight other bulls to keep their cows and mating rights. If you've ever heard bull elk bugling in the fall or the sound of antlers crashing togther during a fight
you know what an amazing wildlife spectacle the fall elk rut is. If you've never experienced this for yourself, I suggest you head to the Rocky Mountains and see for yourself.
