WHY ?

Not that long ago this house was at the side of the
very busy A1 dual carriageway. When the new 8 lane
motorway was opened the southbound carriageway of
the old A1 was kept, made into a single carriageway and
now serves as an access route to various villages,
farms, industrial units and a cemetery. The question
is why do we allow such properties to be neglected like
this? With the amount of people we have living in
accommodation that half of us would not keep dogs in
I think it should be a crime to let a place like this
deteriorate and eventually be demolished.
I feel no better now I have got that of my chest.

What a great old building! Imagine the possibilities with all that space... *and* it's in Cambridge. I wonder how much it's selling for...

There's always money for new. With very few exceptions, as you travel our largest metropolitan areas, urban sprawl has left many excellent structures vacant whilt new construction is booming. That is why I love small towns that revive and utilize century old buildings and build new only as a necessity.
