Spiders (Order Araneae)

Spiders are not insects and belong to a separate class. I would be the first to admit that I do not like spiders; however, my time outdoors has given me an appreciation of the different types that exist and the intricate colours and patterns of some of these creatures which can be startlingly beautiful. Some spiders, such as the Goldenrod Crab Spider, can even change colour to match their surroundings.

Still, while I have learned to appreciate them, I strongly prefer to observe and photograph them outside...my admiration does not extend to spiders found indoors!
