I got up at 5:30 am because something was walking around on our roof, and it didn't sound like the Red Squirrel I've seen sitting up there. By the time I got dressed the crows and a magpie were loudly mobbing something in a tree about 30 feet from our cabin; when I arrived I found this young Great Horned Owl in a tree right at about eye level! A second one was in the area as well; the corvids all left this fellow alone to chase another one.
