I have been trying to photograph an adult male Common Green Darner since the first time I became acquainted with this species. I usually see adults only in flight, while newly emerged individuals with bright pink abdomens are more likely to be seen perching in vegetation close to the ground. I startled this one up from where it was perching in the grass, watched it zip around for a couple of minutes, and was lucky enough to see where it landed after .
