Tachinid fly (genus Gymnosoma)

This insect is one of the true flies, which are insects of the order Diptera and are characterized by having only a single pair of wings on the mesothorax.
The presence of a single pair of wings distinguishes true flies from other insects with "fly" in their name, such as mayflies, dragonflies, fireflies, and butterflies.
