I picked up my wife from the airport as the rough part of the trip was over. We still had 3000 miles to go though, and even though she is little, a KLR650 is no GoldWing. We ventured out on the Kenai planning to take the Ferry to Valdez, but misread the schedule and ended up getting blown off the next day. We bought my wife a new sleeping bag in Anchorage, so after she found out she would be warm, dry and had a hot meal she was OK the rest of the trip. We headed off acrossed the Richardson, picked up the Alcan, and then down the Cassiar. The dry weather ran out and we were wet a lot. Especially going through the Icefields Parkway--34deg F and rain/fog. We spent that night in a motel. Once acrossed the border, things got better and we winged our way back to South Dakota and the truck.
