Life On The Bagan Plain (Dec 06)

A shepherd herding goats on the dry plain of Bagan. The temple in the background is Tayoke Pyae. It was first built by King Narathihapate but was left unfinished as the king fled Bagan in 1287 when it was overrun by the Mongol armies of Kublai Khan.
