This wooden building with exaggerated flaring roof eaves is one of the most flamboyant structure within the park. First built in the initial years of the 17th century as part of the now defunct Fuguo Temple (Fuguo Si), it was moved to its current location in the Heilongtan between 1976 and 1979.
Fuguo Si was one of the Five Famous Temples of Lijiang, the remaining four of which still dot the hillsides surrounding the Lijiang Plain. These temples were founded under the patronage of Mu Tian Wang, the 17th-century Naxi king, a religious man who was instrumental in the growth of the Red Hat Sect of Buddhism in his domain.
