Window View ...

...of the community building.
This building is where all the big decisions are made for our Association.
The latest and greatest one...the Board decided it was best to remove 30 trees from our neighborhood.
They claim disease, bugs, shallow roots, and debris being their justification!
Most of the trees are 30-year old pine trees that are irreplaceable.
I understand if a tree is a direct threat to one of our homes.
But, yesterday, they removed 6 beautiful pines that ran adjacent to a major highway.
These trees blocked noise and pollution.
Personally, I believe our President hates pine trees.
He is planting Bradford Pear trees.
An inexpensive tree that does not do the job like the pine tree.
OR, maybe, the President is getting some kind of kick back from the tree removal company.
Of course, I went to the Property Management company and got no where.
I am not a "tree hugger", but this sure makes me want to be one!
Hey, I think I have my SP for tomorrow!

I will try to find a tree for tomorrow... but the pickins are slim around here.

great night shot!
Mairéad01-May-2008 18:10
Great shot. Sorry to hear about the trees.

I like your view - even though it has fewer trees than you'd like. Small folks with too much time on their hands will find something to do to make themselves feel important. So sad.

Those people need to get a life!

sorry about the trees.. I'm on the board of our condo assoc. so I have a chance to yell if they try anything, but majority rules of course. hope some trees help again tho
Dan Chusid01-May-2008 17:26
What's next? Will they fill in the pool with concrete to make
more parking space?
Hope this one isn't coming down:

that is so sad... we're not ALLOWED to cut down trees in Toronto - even on private property - without city approval...

great shot too..

My condolences to you.

I bet he's getting a nice sum of money from the tree killers, tsk
Laura Sebastianelli01-May-2008 15:12
Nice image Jennifer -- even though a sad story. Do something nurturing for yourself to get through this! What a shame.
Jen Bixler01-May-2008 13:44
Sounds great Cindi! I am so sad. As I type this, they are cutting down 3 beautiful pines in the back of Curvin's home. I may not have a tree to hug for my SP at this point...
;o(
Cindi Smith01-May-2008 13:38
I hate it when they do that. It is usually for selfish purposes! So, do we all hug trees for our SP tomorrow to stand up with you in unison to show our disappointment?
The Third Side01-May-2008 12:33
Why not send the ASSociation President a nice load of Agent Orange as a gift? :-D
