January-6-2005

I met a courageous person today. She cannot move any part of her body except for her eyes. ALS is the disease that took that all away from her. What ALS couldn't take was her drive to live and the family members who cherish her for that.
Using this "eye gaze" device, she controls her environment and communicates with people. In fact, she's communicated with thousands of people using it to write several articles and stories to inspire other people who have met challenges in their lives. Perhaps I will get a chance to read some of her writings.
Either way, she has inspired me to see the people who I love a little differently. These loved-ones shine a little brighter for me today. Those who are away, I miss even more.

That is an amzing woman. Some people have amazing courage, I don't think I would be like that. Great story.
