Delta B-757/200

Salt Lake City, USA view map

JFK/SLC
The 1st time I flew Delta, and a Domestic USA flight. I was surprised, as much better the International...
As soon as we took off, terrible turbulence. Surprizingly suddenly the Captain spoke on a very friendly tone: "Hi, folks, as you've noticed, we are experiencing some quite severe turbulence, we are contacting ATC to get permission to climb and get us out of this. In the meantime, plase hang in there"...
Well, he did, and after some time, the service started, nice!
But, over 30'before landing, the Captain again: "Ladies and Gentleman, it was very busy today. We had to climb a lot, tried 37, 39, 40, and finnaly ended up in 43,000 ft! It was fine then, but we will be starting our descent soon, it might get rough again, so please hang in there..."
I found it really funny a Captain telling the truth, for a change, and in fact, he managed to do a nice flying...
