I just found this photo, and I am so glad I did: This beautiful Limestone formation no longer exists as such, the last time I saw it, possible before or during my filming there in 1979 it was horribly broken!
The Polvo gallery, of the big Moinhos Velhos Cave was one of the unexplored one, the 1st one from the top, the one we, speleologists, had more high hopes of continuation.
In fact, it was the 2nd one, Rio Negro (the Black River) who showed us a few more kms more of galleries, since the 1st explorations by my friend Joao Paulo Galvao, and even myself, back in 1975...
The rest is History, forgotten by many...
