British Airways B-767

Heathrow Airport, London, England view map

1998, the year of my most flying! Doing my "Seven Seas" series...
I had to go to OPTEX, London, to get some equipment for my filming next month.
I took my Wife, and Brother in Law along. Altough he worked for TAP Maintenance, he never had flown before...
On the BA B-767, everything was ok! I always loved this plane, in fact, the BEST Boeing ever built!
But on the return day, 3/4 days after, another story: It was an horrendous wind in London, and most flights were cancelled! In fact, when we went to the BA check in, the lady told us simply and plainly: "BA does not fly in this kind of wether! Why you don't try TAP-Portugal, at Terminal 2?". Amazing...
So we went, and the TAP lady (they had them at the time, after is was the tremendous mistake of the outsourcing), who said to us: "TAP ALWAYS flies!" There were still some free places, so we took them, not sure if it was such a good idea...
We got to the gate, and still could see how green the other disembarking passengers looked, leaving the Airbus A310!
Well, the wind was in fact tremendous! And I cannot even describe what the 1st 5 minutes after take off were! Absolute total and complete silence in the cabin! Nobody even moving a finger!
But amazingly, after just those 5'it was good, and it was a fine flight... LOL
