Today the ship sailed along the sea ice South of "Kong Karls Land", a group of islands on the Eastern portion of Svalbard, looking for polar bears on the ice. It is a strictly protected nature reserve and ships may not approach closer to 500 meters. However, we were much farther that that due to the ice pack. While we did not find any polar bears this day, the icebergs that we saw along the front of the ice were beautiful!
