As our group stopped at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch for lunch, I opted instead to walk a couple hundred yards down the road to where there was a group of photographers. A bison calf had died here and there was a coyote feeding off of it. The hide is too thick for it to tear open so it only got some of the hide. I was told that overnight one of the wolf packs got to it and there was not much left. While was photographing the coyote, the mother bison was about 100 yards away.
