Hey! I just found your old Spanish Camp photos. I actually live in the present day spanish camp, it's come to be one privately owned street with rental bungalows. I love the summers here now, even with all the construction and huge 3 story houses going up /: I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like back then. I think it was as close to a perfect life as you could get. I mean a candy shaq on the beach? Now thats straight out of a movie.

Now everyone is afraid to go into the water, and there is no more of that "neighborly love"
I think its funny how I stumbled onto your gallery on here. I'm not sure if you too are an all out bike fanatic but I sure am, and seeing pictures of bicycle rides after looking at what our little area used to be like made me feel a bit better.

(:

Loved the photos- the tower at Jones Beach gave me a rush back to being a sunburnt 10 year old, leaving the beach after a long hot day.

Found your pics of the Katakura Porta-Silk while trying to find out more info. Just bought one to fix up. Do you know anything more about the bike? I can find precious little online....

Hello, Was wondering whether you had a manual or printed directions for the Katakura Silk Portca Cycle?

Thanks

Hi John,
Love bikes and cameras; biking and shooting pics, so your gallery is right up my alley.

John,
It is always a pleasure to enter this site and to view the wonderful pictures of bikes and NY.
From across the Atlantic in seconds a view of life in the Big Apple.
Folding bikes on streetwalks and on Ferries and bridges too.
My first views of bike life in USA.
My Father was of US parentage and I have been to OK and San Francisco/LA too but one day I just must get to New York City-with my Brompton cycle of course!
Keep up the good work with the pictures.
All the best from UK.
