This female duck and her companion were convinced I was going to feed them. They followed me around the shore and the parking lot until they were convinced I was a deadbeat.
This is why it's not good to feed wild birds. They quickly come to assume all humans are gentle creatures that dispense sweet if nutritionally bankrupt food. Not all humans are gentle creatures. It seems callous to say, but please don't feed the ducks -- for their sake.
