Ready to leave Miami on a 7-day Caribbean cruise in 1990, Norway belches exhaust. Her inefficiency and obsolescence were creating questions as to her future when a boiler room explosion in 1999 finally spelled her doom. She was used as a stationary NCL training ship for the Pride of America crew and then sold for scrap in 2003.
