The building to the right is my son Sikker's kindergarten. When the so-called "Youth House" was evicted 1 March 2007 this were one of the many places around Nørrebro where heavy fights between police and demonstrators took place. A small wooden shred behind the second building to the right - used to protect the bikes of the staff and parents from the kindergarten - were torn apart and used as material for the burning barricades.
On the large building to the left, you can se a sign reading "Empire". Empire is a high-end cinema that opened here in Guldsbergsgade around ten years ago. One of several signs of the change of this end of Copenhagen from hard-core "working class"-area into a complex mixture of "working class", students, families with small children and various ethnic groups.
