Rotorua with Pam and Dawn 2007

A couple of friends and I went to Rotorua at the weekend – with our cameras.
We headed South from Auckland, not really sure were we would end up, but Rotorua it was…
What did we do?
Photography, Photography and more Photography.
Weather was grey and overcast on Saturday, but on Sunday it rained half the time.
But we managed to visit some of the hot steamy areas.
We did have fun, thanks Dawn and Pam.
Pam was a marvel folks - stopping at our beck and call whenever we saw a special tree,
or sheep, or cow, or some of the old wrecked Kiwi farmhouses dotted around the landscape…

I agree with her. We also found Rotorua too expensive.
$50 a head to go into Whakarewarewa. We refused to pay it.
Even the restaurants were high priced and the quality wasn't very good either.
It's a pity, because I think they will lose customers. . . and tourists.

Maybe the place is disappointing but your captures, especially the landscapes, are brilliant!! Nice to see the birds in context!

OOOOhhhh those memories! Great gallery with beautiful pictures of your trip with the other photographers, good to see many pictures from NZ gives me a good feeling!
