Osaka - Minami (South Osaka) or sometimes simply know as "Minami" or "Minami-ku", is the place where the hip and young like to be. It's a lot more down to earth than "Kita" or North Osaka which is more the business district.

Getting to Minami is easy. Just catch the subway to Nanba or Shinsaibashi, or if you're coming from south of the city you can come on the Nankai train and the last stop is Nanba. If you're on a JR Rail Pass catch the Osaka Loop to Imamiya and change on to the JR Namba line, and JR Namba is the next stop.
