Known as "Kita" or "Umeda" the Northern Part of Osaka is more the business side of city. Add a few upmarket shopping malls, five star hotels and fancy restaurants to the mix for good measure. However it's not all highbrow, a bit of a wander around and you'll soon find some cheap eateries where the office workers frequent and plenty of down to earth bars where they head after work.
Getting to Kita is quite easy, on the JR lines get off at Osaka Station and you're there. If you're coming on the Shinkansen the nearest stop is Shin-Osaka were you can change to a regular JR train to get to Osaka (the next stop). The station on the Hankyu Railway is called "Umeda" it's the main terminus station for the Hankyu Railway. The station on the Hanshin Railway is also called "Umeda" and it's the main terminus station for the Hanshin Railway. The nearest station on the Keihan Railway is "Yodoyabashi", but it's a bit of a walk from their to the main areas of Kita. The nearest stop on the Midosuji Subway Line is "Umeda". The nearest stop on the Yotsubashi Subway Line is "Nishi-Umeda". The nearest stop on the Tanimachi Subway line is "Higashi-Umeda".
This gallery is a collection of photos from Kita taken on various visits I've made there. The newest photos are placed at the beginning of this gallery.
