Värmlandsberg mine is a place of melancholy in its dullness. Opened as late as in 1969, at a time when several other established mines were in crisis, the venture at Värmlandsberg gives somewhat a feeling that even the owners were dubious if this was a wise move. The 400 meter deep mine was closed in 1980. The site does not show anything exciting, as most of the buildings in the site have been bulldozed, and only a few sheds are left.
