The roof tiles more or less guarantees at least fifty years maintenance free lifetime. About ten years ago, I replaced the tiles on my house and given that the house was built in 1922, some 85 years duarability is not bad at all.

In this particular case, it seems like the problem is not the tiles but rather that the roof under it has collapsed...
