A close-up of a typical tower. The carrying cable is held in place by its own weight on a pivoted stand. When slack, the pulling wire is guided into the lower part and is supported by the wheels.
The insulators in the top were used for the local control- and telephone line used by the cableway. It was replaced by a more reliable microwave link in the 1980s.
