Åsboberg is one of hundereds of Swedish mines that were closed before "the modern and rational time", in this case in 1958. A more modern centerpiece, now more or less overgrown with dense forest is a very deep and dry steeply inclined shaft. When walking around between large trunks and dense bushes, shafts and large pits opens up everywhere. A very dangerous place indeed.
It is somewhat fascinating to watch how thoroughly the nature takes back what was once gained by man…
