This is my grandfather and grandmother Williams. I remember him a little but he died in 1945 when I was but 5 years old. I remember playing with his carpenter tools some. He died after becoming sick on the river while fishing. I remember Grandmother Williams well; she was one of the best cooks around. She would prepare "stewed tomatoes with milk and sugar" for me with those big hot biscuits and that is all I wanted. When we would catch channel catfish on the river she was one of our best customers. She always wanted a "mess." After a while I learned what a mess was.
