Remains Of China Hill Firetower

I think the year was 1957 when a devastating tornado tore up almost everything around, including Bethel Church and The Firetower near China Hill. At least one person lost their life. Oak trees were uprooted and turned upside down like plucked coffee weeds. There was great damage. Houses were swept away, leaving only the floor. If the date isn't correct let me know. This year is correct. My family (J.C.White and Agnes White) were also hit by the same Tornado on HORSE CREEK). The damage to our house and the crops in the field led us to the big city of McRae. No more picking cotton and working in the tobacco fields but we also gave up our swimming hole and the fun times fishing at the creek.
