Pictures by "Jake"
Adopted from Korea at the age of two, Sunny decided at age 31 to seek out her birth mother, and just this past week traveled with her husband on April 4, 2009, to Seoul for this very special meeting. These are the first pictures my son-in-law emailed to me the day after they arrived home. I think you can tell from the expressions on Sunny's and her mother's faces that they were very, very, very happy to finally be reunited. We must give many heartfelt thanks to Dillon International, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the adoption agency through which we adopted Sunny and her sibling Peter, (who was unable to go on this trip) and also thank Eastern Social Welfare Society in Korea. These agencies made the meeting possible and facilitated every facet of the time in Korea, providing several translators and much more.
Technical note: The LX3 was new to my son-in-law and was used in Intelligent Auto mode. I think it did a fabulous job. A few were (not all posted here) were taken with Jake's Fujifilm F30. Post-processing was very minimal. (Click on thumbnails to see larger pictures.)
