I was wondering if it would ever sprout because I had heard the ginger meant for the market was treated with something that would retard sprouting.

I put some knobs in a shallow pot, as I had seen done in some YouTube videos, probably a couple of weeks ago, and just noticed the sprouts this morning.
You're really supposed to start it in May, but I love a challenge and will try growing it under lights
