So...I finally worked up enough gumption to attempt making macarons for the first time and I obviously screwed up, perhaps overbeating the egg white and sugar. Wound up with this mess that looks like biscuit dough that had large lumps of butter cut in. Can't imagine that it's salvageable. Am I being told I shouldn't be eating something with that much sugar in it?
i know what I did wrong and if I didn't know better I'd say Alzheimer's is on the way. I needed 230 grams of egg whites and my eye slipped down to the line with the weight for the sugar, which was 70 gms! I need someone standing by my side asking, "Are you sure you measured right?"
