Required lots of Photoshop hocus-pocus to tone down highlights and bring out shadow detail. I just learned on the Sony Cybershot forum at dpreview.com, that there is a new "highlights" metering mode in this camera which will analyze the dynamic range of an image and adjust the exposure so that the highlighted areas will not be burnt out. Looking forward to testing it out.
