_6050038 Translucent Rhododendron

I love overcast days for photographing flowers. Less of a dynamic range to deal with, resulting in delicate tones.

Great, I do like Rhododendron flowers, so exotic compared to our native species.

So lovely and Ray,mod is so right about cloudy days being perfect to bring out the beauty of flowers, with one exception.....the Ca poppies, the close on windy or cloudy days.

They are always so pretty when in bloom...

Overcast days are a dream to most photographers ... ask a wedding photographer what sort of day s/he prefers and an overcast day will most likely be the answer ... the clouds act as a giant light box, the colors are bright and true ... as is the case with this beautiful image.
