Reworking of Double Portrait

I really liked the way the two subjects looked in the original Fujifilm F30 image from my son-in-law's Facebook page, but the harshness from the flash and distracting elements detracted from their beauty. Really would have liked to include Goofy, but the layout wouldn't work for a standard size print.

I worked on it a lot! First I tried to duplicate the plaid pattern on the couch with the use of a selection, which I pasted and transformed to match the rest of the pattern - just didn't look right.
Then I decided to crop out the distracting elements to the size of a standard 8 x 10 print.

The default jpg processing in the camera left the image too sharp looking and the flash reflected to much off the girl's face, so I went to work adjusting the brightness.

Cut down on the sharpness with a bit of soft blur with Harald Heim's FocalBlade plug-in.

There was much experimentation with various filters before I settled on this version and it was fun watching it progress.
