A La Carte

Ya I know this image was shot a few days ago...Buuuttt You just got'ta hear this one.
I have been after a shopping cart image for some time now, there had to be more than 10 carts in a row. That's all I was after and this was a sweet find more than 10 and 3rows of them......
So I start shooting, then this huge guy comes along and asks "What are you doing?"
I just pretend I never hear him and he asks again....So I say "taking a picture".
"Ya I can see that" he says'"And of what"...now I'm getting pissed..."Of SHOPPING CARTS" I say.
"Well I work at Wal Mart and Wal Mart does not like anyone taking random pictures around their stores". So I say "I did not get your ugly sign in my picture"...Then he pipes up with.....
"If my boss finds out I saw someone taking pictures and did not report it I could lose my job"
So here is the image that Wal Mart does not want you to see...I changed the color of the carts from
blue to purple to protect them.....But this is just down right silly...Maybe these carts are made in China......hum.....

I am sure it was worth the hassle just to get the story.

Wal Mart is evil, EVIL I tell you. You don't believe me, get your hands on a copy of the DVD 'WalMart, the high cost of low prices'. It will blow your mind.

I've wondered how some of you PBasers take images inside places without getting tossed but I never would have guessed you could get tossed for taking images outside. Love the perspective Mike and the story.

Weird and wonderful, but not as weird as the story behind it!

Nice shot Mike. I had a little chuckle reading your story but must admit that I am always a little disturbed at how paranoid we are getting as a society. Keep pushing the boundary.

Nice work Mike. I would have punched him in the teeth, took a picture of the unconcious body, and fled prior to the cop's arrival. You probably handled it a bit better. I would have at least told him "Well, you better report it then. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." as I pressed the shutter again. I've taken pictures INSIDE Wal-Mart before. I guess I am lucky I'm alive.

Fight the power Mike! The "morning cheer" will not stop the Nikons! Personally, My answer "what does it look like I am doing..."

Oh my goodness Mike, I'm sitting here laughing at this one! I was wondering where on earth you found purple shopping carts. Maybe Walmart needs to put signs up declaring that they don't want people taking random pictures around their stores - it'd be cheaper than hiring bouncers :).

OK, I am cracking up laughing. The photo on its own was amazing but the story really sets it off. This is priceless! You know what? The carts look far better in purple anyway...so there now Walmart...take that!! Way to go Mike! I never knew Walmart had bouncers. hmmm

Just shake my head sometimes when I hear these stories or experience similar. This is a real good one though Mike. Should have taken his picture too and tinted him purple.
Love that purple treatment – Walmart a la Barney the Dinosaur.
