Claybank Brick Plant ,Claybank Saskatchewan

The Claybank Brick Plant was named a National Historic Site in 1994.
It was opened in 1914 and closed in 1989 over those years it operated under many different names
Saskatchewan Clay Products (1912 to 1916), Dominion Fire Brick & Pottery Company (1916 to 1954), Dominion Fire Brick & Clay Products Ltd. (1954 to 1971) and A.P. Arlene and I had special permission with the help of Kyle S to get a private tour and paint the plant and buildings at night. Thanks Kyle for the tour we had a blast.

This website enabled me to connect with my wonderful Niece, Wendy. My father and her grandfather worked at the plant and four of my siblings were born in Claybank. my father immigrated to Canada from Krefeld Germany in 1922. his legacy and The Claybank Brick Plant will always be part of our heritage.

My father Adolph Ropertz worked at the plant in 1936,two years before I was born. .

I used to know the Welches(Dick & Peggy) who lived there in 1962 or 63. Dated their daughter. Her name was Lynn.
