Carquinez Straight
Heading north and inland from San Francisco - one traverses San Pablo Bay and then enters these waters of The Carquinez Strait - which divide the waters of the bays from the delta regions of The Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers.
Here in the foreground are the remnant workings of an old side wheeler riverboat. One sees here the starboard wheel hub as well as the twin boilers. In the distance are the C & H Sugar plant and the two bridges which span the strait - carrying Interstate Eighty.
