We came accross this little red house Sunday afternoon. It's abandoned in the middle of a Turf Farm. It's windows are blocked out with black plywood. Can't help but wonder who lived there.

This was my Great Great Grandparents home as well. It is showing wear unfortunately and needs some help to keep it from disintegrating completely. I am going to contact the Heritage Society to find out what needs to be done and who is responsible for preserving such a beautiful home.

This is also my great grandparents house. My mother, Ellen Lois Toon was the yougest of Ken McIvers' 4 daughters. She just passed away May 03/12.

Built around 1886 by Murdoch McIver who worked for a time on the CPR construction as a powder man. He and his wife Annie raised their 8 children on this farm of 80 acres for which he paid $1 an acre when he arrived in Fort Langley in 1876.

This old home was the Murdock McIver homestead..they were my great grandparents)

it was a rental for a few years until the barn burnt down, its a heritage house that cant be ripped down
