We visited Pueblo Grande museum and archaeological park in Phoenix. These replicated pithouses on the original site are homes arranged around a common courtyard. They date around 950AD. At one time 40,000 Hohokam lived in Pueblo Grande. They mysteriously disappeared in 1450AD. The City of Phoenix is preserving the area for archaeological study by present and future generations.
